Kangana Ranaut was appreciated for her role in Vishal Bharadhwaj’s ‘Rangoon’, even though the film won mixed reviews at the box office. She has won National award for her performance oriented film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’.
Kangana is currently learning horse riding along with her instructor for her role in ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’ directed by Ketan Mehta. She is also undergoing vigorous training for sword fight and other war skills in order to perform well for her role as Rani Lakshmibai.
The makers have also planned to approach a Hollywood actor to play as General Hugh Rose, who witnessed Rani Lakshmibai’s valor during the Jhansi rebel in 1858. It is rumored that Hollywood star Hugh Grant is approached for the role. An official confirmation is expected.
