Sai Dhanshika's recent short film, Sinam, received critical acclaim and accolades at the California Best Shorts Competition. The short film has won her the Best Actress award. The movie was screened at Kolkata Film Festival and won Sai Dhanshikaa more applause. Says the Kabali actress, 'I am always open to commercial roles. I started off in the industry as a teenager. I gradually started shaping my career the way I wanted to. Good directors also came to me.'
She says, 'In Sinam, I played the role of a sex worker. Directed by Ananda Murthy, the film is about Shakthi (the sex worker), who recounts the horrific incident of how her father pushed her into prostitution. It was a challenging role and I enjoyed being part of. The highlight of the movie is that it had the longest monologue in the history of cinema'.
